The Atelier
Designed in private. Travelled in confidence.
Cloud Pavilion is a small practice. We design fewer journeys, and we design them better.
What we believe
Travel is a sequence of decisions about attention.
What to see. What to skip. Where to stay a third night. Where to leave at noon. We are paid to make those decisions well, on your behalf — and to disappear once they are made.
We do not run tours. We do not keep a list of departures. Every journey is drawn from one conversation and shaped over weeks. By the time you land in Nanchang, every door is open, every host expecting you, every hour considered.
Partnership
Our standing in Jiangxi.
Cloud Pavilion travels through Jiangxi by way of an institutional partnership with one of the province's leading universities — a relationship that gives our guests facilitated visa processing, access to private cultural venues, and the trust of local communities not granted to ordinary tour operators.
The studio
A small group of people who answer the phone.
We are designers, fixers, drivers, monks, ceramicists, and tea farmers — distributed between Casablanca and Nanchang. We do not have a customer service department. The person who designs your journey is the same person who picks up when you call from the road.
Principles
Five quiet rules.
Fewer journeys, better journeys.
We cap the calendar. When the calendar is full, we say so.
We do not write itineraries we have not walked.
Every itinerary on this site has been travelled by a Cloud Pavilion designer in the past eighteen months.
We never auto-confirm.
Every inquiry is read by a human, replied to by a human, and quoted by a human.
We do not pad.
If a journey would be better in seven days than in eight, we will recommend seven. We do not bill by the night.
Discretion is a service.
We do not publish client names. We do not photograph guests. What you tell us stays with us.
