Cloud Pavilion

5 days

Essential Jiangxi

The essence — mist mountains and ancient villages.

A first introduction to the province. Nanchang's literary pavilion, Wuyuan's rapeseed valleys, Jingdezhen's porcelain workshops, Lushan's tea-mist mornings. Paced for those who want the heart of Jiangxi without sacrificing its quiet.

Five days is a careful number. Long enough to step into the rhythm of Jiangxi, short enough to leave wanting another week. We have built Essential as a measured arc — pavilion at the centre of dynasty, then west to the village valleys, north to the porcelain city, and finally up into the cloud-quiet of Lushan.

01

Day 1

Arrive Nanchang

Met at Changbei airport. Settle into a quiet hotel above the Gan river. Late afternoon at Tengwang Pavilion, the literary tower rebuilt twenty-eight times across thirteen centuries. Dinner of Jiangxi specialties, hosted by your designer.

02

Day 2

Nanchang to Wuyuan

Slow drive north-east through tea hills. Arrival in Likeng village by lunch. The afternoon is unscheduled — wander between stone bridges, white-walled lanes, ancestral halls. Dinner at a village table.

03

Day 3

Wuyuan to Jingdezhen

Morning in Huangling, the hanging-field village. Lunch at the foot of the kilns. Afternoon in a working studio with a sixth-generation porcelain master — wheel, glaze, mark. You will leave with a piece you shaped yourself.

04

Day 4

Jingdezhen to Lushan

A long lunch at Taoxichuan Art Avenue, then the climb to Lushan. Donglin Temple at dusk — the courtyard lanterns lit one by one. The mountain air thins; the valley falls away. A pot of Yunwu in the room before sleep.

05

Day 5

Lushan to Nanchang, departure

Dawn tea ceremony on the mountain. Slow descent through cloud. Lunch in Nanchang. Onward flight.
