Jingdezhen
One thousand years of porcelain.
Since 1004 CE, every piece fired in this city bore the reign mark of its emperor. The kilns still burn. The masters still teach.
Jingdezhen is the porcelain capital of the world by a margin so wide that no rival even competes for the title. For a thousand unbroken years, the city has fired clay. Its blue-and-white travelled the Maritime Silk Road; its imperial wares set the standard for global porcelain. Today the masters live in Sanbao, work in Taoxichuan, teach in private studios that open only by introduction. Cloud Pavilion is one of those introductions.
